Lady Gaga may be headlining the Halftime Show, but Taylor Swift is kicking off February's Super Bowl weekend with a performance of her own. For the first time, the singer will headline the AT&T DirecTV Super Saturday in Houston, Texas the night before the big game.
Instead of NRG Stadium, where the Super Bowl will take place, Swift will perform on a custom-made 64,000-square-foot venue especially made for the event, which takes place on February 4, 2017, Variety reports. Tickets to the performance will be available through AT&T promotions in the near future.
Some fans are suspecting that the singer's headlining show is a sign that she's about to release new music soon. With the massive audience it provides, the Super Bowl makes a perfect platform to debut or perform new songs.
Lady Gaga, who's taking over the halftime show, will have plenty of new repertoire after she releases her new album Joanne on Oct. 21. Even Beyoncé, who performed at this year's Super Bowl, released her visual album Lemonade just two months after the game. Taylor Swift's latest album premiered in October 2014-she may be due for some new s.
